Chris Smith (born 31 August 1988, Scotland) is a Scottish defender who played for Ayr United from 2010 to 2013 (including a loan spell). He joined on 1 July 2010 from Dumbarton under manager Brian Reid and made 78 appearances, scoring 2 goals. In the 2010–11 season he scored once away to Alloa Athletic, and in 2011–12 he scored two important winners: against St Mirren in the League Cup Quarter-Finals (sending Ayr to the semi-finals) and 4 days later against Hamilton Academical in the League. After leaving for Falkirk in June 2012 following relegation, he returned on loan in February 2013, making 14 appearances before leaving at the end of the season. He has since played for Stirling Albion, Stenhousemuir, Dumbarton and Annan Athletic.
