Ayr United came from behind to claim a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Stranraer in the Scottish League Cup at Stair Park. The visitors twice recovered from a goal down, with Ben Summers and Ross Taylor on target before Taylor sealed the points with a late penalty. Stranraer had led through James Dolan’s first-half spot-kick and briefly regained the advantage after the break, but Ayr finished strongly to turn the tie around.
-
Ayr United continued their strong League Cup run with a disciplined 2-0 victory over Edinburgh City at Somerset Park. After a goalless first half, Owen Stirton broke the deadlock before Kenzie Mitchell wrapped up the points late on, ensuring Ayr stayed perfect in Group G.
-
Ayr started brightly and took the lead on nine minutes. Ross Taylor drove forward from midfield and slid a pass to Owen Stirton, who cut inside from the left and fired a low shot into the bottom corner for 1–0.
-
Luke McBeth struck in the third minute of stoppage time to give Ayr United a dramatic victory over Queen’s Park at Somerset Park. United twice saw their lead cancelled out by Aidan Connolly before the defender settled a five-goal contest with a late winner.
