Greig Spence grabbed his 11th and 12th goals of the season as Cowdenbeath came out winners over title-chasing Ayr United at Central Park.
In a frantic first half, Ross Caldwell blasted the visitors ahead but Cowdenbeath responded immediately through Dean Brett.
Spence gave Cowdenbeath before Gordon Smith added a third, but Ayr's Jordan Preston pegged a goal back.
Spence headed in his second of the game to put the game out of the reach.
The win sees Cowdenbeath climb up to sixth, four points off a Ladbrokes League One play-off place.
