Biography

Ian McCall signed Rose after his release from Aberdeen as the club prepared for life in the Championship and scored his first goal for the club with a 90th minute equaliser away to Dumbarton and impressed throughout the campaign, although Ayr were relegated at the end of the season.

Ayr went full-time in the summer and Rose was offered a new full-time deal at the club and was excellent at the back as Ayr went on to win the League 1 title making 40 appearances in total and getting his only two goals in a 4-1 win away to East Fife (with Ayr being 1-0 down at the time).

Rose was a regular once again as Ayr adjusted to being back in the Championship and excelled once again this time with Ayr being more successful and was represented in the PFA Team of the Season for the division at the end of the season.
