Match Report
Ayr United claimed their place in the Scottish Cup fifth round thanks to an early strike from Mark Roberts.
The Veteran forward bagged the only goal after just two minutes, converting from a Junior Mendes cut-back.
Soon after, Mendes saw his long-range effort cannon against the crossbar as the home side went on to dominate.
Mendes, man-of-the-match Ryan Stevenson and Ryan Campbell all went close for the Honest Men and visiting keeper David Scott had a busy evening.
Brian Reid's side will face the winners of Livingston v Dundee in the next round of the tournament.
