Match Report
League leaders Ayr continued their dominance in Scottish League One as they comprehensively beat 10-man Airdrie at Somerset Park.
Forward Jordan Preston grabbed his sixth goal of the season before Michael Donald's sweetly-struck shot flew past Airdrie goalkeeper Neil Parry.
Alan Lithgow tripped Ross Docherty in the area and Alan Trouten made no mistake with the penalty.
Airdrie were reduced to 10 men after Chris O'Neil's dangerous lunge.
The Honest Men have now gone 14 games unbeaten, the second longest unbeaten streak in all English and Scottish divisions behind Sky Bet Championship leaders Brighton.
