Biography

Henry George Smith (born 10 March 1956, Lanark/Douglas Water, Scotland) is a Scottish former footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He spent the majority of his career with Heart of Midlothian (1974–1996, over 550 appearances) before joining Ayr United in July 1996. He made approximately 38–47 appearances for Ayr United (1 goal) between 1996–2000, initially as first-choice goalkeeper but later becoming backup. He was capped once for Scotland in 1992. After leaving Ayr United in 2000, he played for Clydebank and Berwick Rangers before retiring in 2004.
