Match Report
Ayr United missed the chance to move second in the Championship as Morton held on for a point at Somerset Park.
It was a scrappy game in which a combination of a fabulous save by Harry Stone from a Jordan Davies shot and poor finishing by the home forwards kept the match goalless, with Connor McLennan guilty of blazing two efforts over the top.
Morton, who drop to eighth spot frustrated Ayr with stop-start tactics, which broke up play and interrupted the flow.
United move one point behind Livingston but trail leaders Falkirk by seven.
