Match Report
Arbroath were relegated to Scottish League 1 following a heavy defeat away to Ayr United.
Jim McIntyre's side had to win and hope Inverness Caledonian Thistle lost in order to keep their faint survival hopes alive, but were blown away at Somerset Park.
Penalties from Kurt Willoughby and Anton Dowds, either side of Frankie Musonda's header, put Ayr in command at half-time.
Ben Dempsey fired home a fourth after the break, before Logan Chalmers added a fifth late on.
Ayr climb to sixth, nine points off the play-offs with three games of the regular season left.
