Match Report

Ayr climbed into a play-off position in the Second Division after a win over Stenhousemuir at Somerset Park.

The home side took the lead when Ryan McCann bundled the ball over the line after Scott McLaughlin's volley rebounded off the post.

The visitors could have levelled through Iain Thomson but he volleyed wide from six yards out.

Daniel McKay sealed the win for Ayr late on, rifling the ball into the roof of the net from the edge of the box.
