Match Report
Ayr United overcame Alloa Athletic to record their first win in five league matches and move back into third place in the Scottish Championship.
In challenging conditions, Ross Docherty pounced when Alloa failed to clear a corner then finished from Stephen Kelly's pass.
After the break, Kevin O'Hara's fine 20-yard drive brought the visitors back into the game.
Saves from Jamie MacDonald prevented Ayr recording a bigger win.
Yet Ayr's Ross Doohan produced a terrific save at the death from Liam Buchanan to deny the part-timers a point as the visitors remain bottom of the table.
