Mark Kerr, born on 2 March 1982 in Coatbridge, was appointed as Ayr United manager on 22nd October 2019. He is a Scottish professional football player and coach.
He started his career with Falkirk in 1998, and later played for Dundee United (appearing in two major finals with the club) and Aberdeen before joining Asteras Tripolis in Greece. On Returning to Scotland, Kerr played for Dunfermline Athletic, Dundee, Partick Thistle and Queen of the South before rejoining Falkirk in 2015. He made one appearance for the Scotland B team in 2005.
He signed for Ayr United in January 2018 linking up with former manager Ian McCall for the third time. At the end of the season Mark celebrated promotion with Ayr as league 1 champions.
Kerr played in Ayr’s 2-0 win over Albion Rovers that secured the title. Shortly afterwards, he signed a contract extension where he was a regular in side that went on to qualify for the Premiership play-offs before becoming player/manager of Ayr United.
