Match Report
Kevin Nisbet continued his fine scoring streak as Dunfermline beat Ayr United at Somerset Park to move up to fourth place in the Scottish Championship.
The striker headed in a cross from Greg Kiltie on 68 minutes for his ninth goal in five league outings.
Andy Ryan was close to adding a late second for the visitors, rolling a shot narrowly wide after a breakaway.
Ayr, who remain third, pushed for an equaliser but were denied twice by goalkeeper Cammy Gill in stoppage time.
An Andy Geggan header was kept out before three frantic corners in quick succession were repelled.
Dunfermline are now two points behind the hosts after their fourth win in five league games, while it was a second defeat in four day's for Mark Kerr's men.
