Match Report
Ayr United boosted their play-off aspirations by holding second-placed Dunfermline to a draw at Somerset Park.
The Pars' Alex Whittle had a shot saved early on by David Hutton and Ayr's Brian Gilmour sent his effort wide.
Ryan Thomson put Dunfermline into the lead after the break after heading home Faissal El Bakhtaoui's cross.
But that was soon cancelled out by Alan Forrest, who drew the home side level with a neat finish from close range for his eighth of the season.
Ayr's top scorer, Michael Moffat, failed to convert a chance late on and Brian Gilmour fired a good opportunity over the bar as the full-time whistle neared.
