Morton earned a precious win at Ayr United but remain bottom of the Scottish Championship on goal difference.
George Oakley scored with three minutes left at Somerset Park to snatch the three points for Dougie Imrie's strugglers.
However, with Inverness Caledonian Thistle also winning, Morton remain bottom, albeit are just five points off the promotion play-off places, while Ayr stay in sixth place.
