Match Report
Raith Rovers gave their survival hopes a significant shot in the arm with victory over fellow strugglers Ayr.
It took the visitors just three minutes to score, Grant Murray heading home from Allan Walker's corner.
And Raith doubled their lead in the 12th minute when Iain Williamson latched on to a pass from Graham Weir and beat Craig Samson with a low shot.
Samson twice denied Gregory Tade and, at the other end, Andy Aitken and Mark Roberts spurned Ayr's best chances.
