Match Report

Dale Hilson scored a brace as Forfar Athletic thumped fourth-placed promotion hopefuls Ayr United.

The hosts were quick out the traps, as Jamie McCluskey lifted the ball over Ayr goalkeeper David Hutton to open the scoring.

And Hilson netted before Omar Kader's low finish made it three.

Michael Moffat then scored a consolation goal from the spot for Ayr before Hilson made it 4-1 and a late Brian Gilmour strike ended the scoring.

Ayr remain a point ahead of Stenhousemuir, who lost at home to Airdrieonians, with a game remaining.
