Biography

Alexander "Sandy" Stewart (born 14 October 1965 in Bellshill) is a Scottish football player and coach. Stewart played as a full-back for Hearts, Kilmarnock, Airdrieonians, Partick Thistle and Airdrie United. He became the latter club's first manager, and has been an assistant manager at several clubs in Scotland, England and the United States, working with Owen Coyle.
He joined Ayr United as assistant manager in 2018 after he left Ross County.

He became interim manager of Ayr United on 22nd September 2019 after Ian McCall left for Partick Thistle.
