Match Report

Ayr United missed a penalty as they were held by Scottish Championship promotion play-off rivals Dundee.

Conor Hazard saved Aaron Muirhead's second-half spot-kick after Cammy Kerr was judged to have tripped Michael Moffat, who had previously had a close range goal disallowed for offside.

Ayr remain third, two points clear of Dundee, before Tuesday reunion at Dens.

Mark Kerr's side have now kept clean sheets in their last three games, while Dundee have done so in their last four.

Ayr United manager Mark Kerr: "Our game plan went pretty well and first half we had a few chances around the six-yard box. Same second half.

"I'm not sure if Moffat was offside because the boys said they thought the ball was cut back. We did more than enough to win the game."

Dundee manager James McPake: "We're never happy when we only get a point but given the circumstances of the game - the conditions and giving away a penalty - it is a point.

"It was a great save by our goalkeeper. We showed a real battling quality and desire to keep the clean sheet."
