Match Report

Team: Massey, Black, David Thomson, Connell, Aitken, McLaughlan, McKenna, Peacock, Phillips, McGowan and H.Thomson.

This was a second round tie in the Scottish Qualifying Cup.
Hurlford went 3-0 ahead in the 59th minute. The scorers in the comeback were Charlie Phillips (65 and 75) and Henry McGowan (89). It was McGowan’s debut. The Somerset Park replay was won 4-2.
One of the spectators at Hurlford was Alex Gibson who was then the Kilmarnock Chairman but who would become the Ayr United manager from September 1931 until January 1935.

The photo shows the corner-kick from which Hurlford got their second goal. It is probably the only surviving image of Blair Park in its first season
