Match Report

Greenock Morton closed the gap on second-placed Dundee United after an emphatic away win over Ayr United.

The Championship promotion chasers raced into a 3-0 lead from a Ross Forbes' double and a Gary Oliver strike.

Jamie Adams gave Ayr hope before half-time with a left-footed shot into the bottom corner.

However, Gary Oliver scored again to restore the three-goal lead and move Morton three points of second.
