Match Report
Ayr United climbed off the foot of the Scottish Championship and above Greenock Morton as the visitors finished with 10 men.
Gary Harkins teed up Paul Cairney to fire in the opener from six yards after the break.
Harkins also set up Alan Forrest's volleyed second.
Mark Russell was sent off for pulling back Kevin Nisbet when he was through on goal before Ross Forbes' superb 22-yard free-kick reply.
