Hurlford United Football Club are a Scottish football club based in Hurlford, near Kilmarnock, Ayrshire. Nicknamed The Ford, they were formed in 1912 and play at Blair Park, wearing red and white.
They currently play in the West Region of the Scottish Junior Football Association
Ayr United played their first ever match as Ayr United against local neighbours Hurlford United in a friendly match on 17th August 1910. The result was a pleasing 4-1 win for the Honest Men.
Over the next few seasons the two clubs met in Ayrshire Cup and Scottish Qualifying Cup matches with Ayr United winning all of these matches.
It was more than 100 years later when the clubs next met – in a pre-season friendly at Hurlford with Ayr again winning in a 5-3 victory.
