Ayrshire Cup
The Ayrshire Cup is won of the most handsome trophy in football anywhere and was first competed for in 1877/78 with early winners being Mauchline, Beith, Portland and Kilmarnock Athletic. The first clubs to grace the competition were the likes of Afton Lads, Maybole, Vale of Ayr, Coylton Coila, Kilmaurs Floors, Ayr Rovers and Ayr Athole who were but a few. Ayr United first won the trophy one year after being formed in 1911/12.

No Ayrshire Cup was played after the 1996/97 Ayrshire Cup final although an annual competition under the name ‘The West Sound Trophy’ was introduced in 2004/05 with Ayr United winning the first competition.
