Full Results Against Ardeer Recreation

Ardeer (West) Recreation are a local Amateur club currently playing in Ayrshire Amateur Premier League.

Ayr had beaten ‘Recreation on 30th July 1961 by a comprehensive 11-2 in a pre-season friendly.

On the Wednesday evening of 19th July, 1961, Ayr United played, and beat Ardeer Recreation 4-3 away in a pre-season friendly. Ayr goals came from Alastair McIntyre, Sam McMillan, Tottie McGhee and Willie Fulton.

On 7th August, 1965, Ardeer Recreation lost 7-0 to Ayr, again in a pre-season friendly at Somerset Park. It was 6-0 at half-time. Goals came from the legendary Eddie Moore (9 and 39 minutes, Ian Hawkshaw (33 and 37 minutes), Arthur Paterson (40), Sam McMillan (41), Charlie Oliphant (second half).

Note five goals in an eight-minute burst. The Ayr team on that day was ‘Newman’, Malone, Murphy, Thomson, Monan, McAnespie, Grant, McMillan, Moore, Hawkshaw and Paterson. Ardeer Recreation: Smith, West, Beattie, Orr, Taylor, Ellingham, Nelson, Cairns, Balfour, McCulloch and Samuels.

Ardeer Recreation played at the bottom end of Stevenston, different from Ardeer Thistle who play at the opposite end of the ‘scheme’.
