Full Results Against Annbank
Annbank were a football team from the village of Annbank in South Ayrshire and played their home games at Pebble Park.
They won the initial Ayrshire Football Combination championship, the inaugural two Ayrshire Football League championship, the first Scottish Qualifying Cup as well as four Ayrshire Cups, five Ayr Charity Cups and two Kilmarnock Charity Cups.
In 1884-85, Annbank made it to the Quarter-Finals of the Scottish Cup where they faced Hibernian at Easter Road but lost 5-0, earlier in the competition though they had defeated Kilmarnock 4-1.
The first match between Ayr United and Annbank occurred on 11th May 1912. The two clubs had made their way to the Ayr Charity Cup Final which took place at Beresford Park, Ayr. Ayr United won by 2-0.
The clubs next met in a Ayrshire Cup 2nd round tie on 15th February 1913 at Somerset Park which Ayr won comfortably by 5-2. Annbank were on the wrong end of 5 goals against United at Beresford Park on 3rd May 1913.
The 5-0 defeat that day in the Ayr Charity Cup semi-final gave Ayr United a final tie against Hurlford United.
