Match Report

Inverness Caledonian Thistle increased their lead over Scottish Championship play-off rivals Ayr United to five points with a 2-0 win in the Highlands.

Jordan White fired in the opener for John Robertson's side, with Miles Storey adding a stunning second after the break.

They remain second and are still seven points behind leaders Dundee United after a third win in a row.

Ayr, meanwhile, have lost their last three and stay fourth.

Inverness CT manager John Robertson: "We were convincing winners. I thought in the first-half in particular we moved the ball quickly, we got in behind them and we created chances.

"We got a great second goal. We had chances to kill the game but didn't due to some great defending and saves."

Ayr United manager Mark Kerr: "There's no excuses. On Tuesday, we said we've been off for three weeks and it was a sort of hangover again.

"If we get ahead we are great, if we don't we need to find solutions. We did do better in the second-half but still nowhere near our level."
